Life After Pi

This is the first segment of a feature-length documentary called “Hollywood Ending” focusing on the complex evolutionary challenges facing the U.S. film industry. “Life of Pi” is a thirty minute video about the famous Los Angeles visual effects company Rhythm & Hues, which seemed to reach a kind of pinnacle when it won an Academy Award for its miraculous CG work on the Ang Li film “Life of Pi.” In a bitter irony, the company had just declared bankruptcy two weeks earlier due to the enormous economic pressures on domestic visual effects shops.
