Why Blog? An exclusive post from the Subtraction.com newsletter

Today’s post quotes some of the answers that I gave in a recent interview about blogging. In it, I try to explain my view that “content” is not necessarily the same thing as “writing.” But my answer only touches in part on a topic I’ve been debating for, oh, I would say at least three or four years now: why am I still writing this blog?

The short answer is that, though the world has largely moved on from blogging, I still find tremendous value in maintaining this presence—if for no other reason than as an outlet for my writing. That said, the question looms more and more heavily with each passing month, especially as my ability to blog regularly continues to be constrained. I still hope to sit down and hammer out an exploration of these thoughts soon. One day…
