All Hail Ride Hailing An exclusive post from the Subtraction.com newsletter

Today’s post is about the deep ambivalence that I feel about ride sharing. That sensation is compounded by the fact that, if you really look at it, design is what has really powered these companies’ successes—and their potentially calamitous unintended consequences. It was a tough post to write but a necessary one; I really had a ton of stuff about this topic that I needed to get off my chest.

That said, what I really want to say in this exclusive message for newsletter subscribers is that TODAY, Tuesday 9 Oct, marks the debut of a brand new podcast series that I’ve been working on for the past several months. It’s called “Wireframe” and in each episode we look at a different story in the world of interaction design. The host is yours truly.

There are a lot of design podcasts out there, some great ones too. However, 99.99 percent of them are interview-format shows. “Wireframe” is different. It’s real journalism. High-quality, public radio-style storytelling about DESIGN. In fact, to produce this podcast, Adobe partnered with Gimlet, whose team has roots in the world famous “This American Life” and who have produced amazing podcasts like “Startup” and “Reply All.”

I’m incredibly excited about “Wireframe,” and I’ll be writing more about it publicly this week, but I wanted to give newsletter readers a heads up this morning. Subscribe now so you don’t miss an episode.

Cheers,
Khoi
